JUDGMENTS IN CLAIMS FOR WORK-RELATED UPPER LIMB DISORDERS HEARD IN ENGLAND & WALES

This site provides information on over 200 Court Judgments in personal injury claims in which the alleged injury was some type of work-related upper limb disorder, popularly referred to as repetitive strain injuries (RSI).

It was developed as part of a research project funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which examined how the Courts are interpreting HSE guidance documents and certain Regulations, e.g. Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations and Manual Handling Operations Regulations, in personal injury claims for work-related upper limb disorders. The site is referred to as a source of further information in the HSE's latest guidance Upper limb disorders in the workplace.

Following completion of the research project and the publication of the report [download Research Report from HSE web site] further funding has been provided by the HSE to keep the web site regularly updated and to improve the quality and quantity of information provided.

Access to the site is free of charge, but visitors are required to register and be willing to provide feedback on their use of the site.
