This site provides information on over 200 Court Judgments in personal injury claims in which the alleged injury was some type of work-related upper limb disorder, popularly referred to as repetitive strain injuries (RSI). The site is referred to as a source of further information in the HSE's latest guidance on work-related upper limb disorder Upper limb disorders in the workplace.
The site was initially developed as part of a research project funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which examined how the Courts are interpreting HSE guidance documents and certain Regulations, e.g. Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations and Manual Handling Operations Regulations, in personal injury claims for work-related upper limb disorders. Following completion of the research project and the publication of the report [download Research Report from HSE web site] further funding has been provided by the HSE to keep the web site regularly updated and to improve the quality and quantity of information provided.
